Dream Dress, Literally

Ephesians 3:20

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us…

I had no idea that choosing this verse for our wedding invitations would mean and do so much. We believed God would come through in every single way, and He did! This wedding dress is a testimony of God’s goodness. He sees even the littlest desires in our hearts.

When I started looking for my wedding dress, I thought it would be super easy. Honestly, I convinced myself I would take the first dress I tried on. But it was not a one-stop-shop in my case. By the third or fourth dress STORE, I got frustrated, exhausted, and annoyed. The dresses I tried didn’t fit quite right. I don’t know how many stores we went to, but after 2-3 weeks, I stressed out.

While I was stressing out, I realized I could ask God to help me out. I don’t know why I didn’t think to ask Him sooner, so I prayed a simple prayer, and the following night I had a dream. I saw exactly what my dress should look like, and in the morning I described the details to my mom. Her response was, why don’t we make it?

Turns out, just a few weeks prior, she met a seamstress who altered wedding dresses. My mom called her explaining the situation, and to our surprise, she was beyond ecstatic! She had sewn wedding dresses back in Ukraine for many years, but it all stopped when she moved to the states. It was her dream to sew another wedding dress from scratch!

So we gathered the materials, made a couple trips out to Los Angeles to find the right fabric. Within two months and only three fittings, the dress was ready. It was precisely how I saw in my dream!

God sees our needs, our wants, and desires… all we need to do is simply ask.
